This gorgeous vintage impressionist oil painting is of a library interior which has a prominent lit lamp inside. The painting draws you in through a door and because of the play of light on the polished floor, and the warm glow from the lamp, it gives off a cozy intimate atmosphere. The detailed bookshelves suggest a scholarly or refined setting, common in European interiors of the late 19th and early 20th centuries. The painting has been re-framed using a vintage French Montparnasse Frame (which has slight damage to the left bottom corner - see photo). The painting is unsigned.
