Stunning antique Louis XVI marriage mirror, likely to have originated from the 19th or 20th century. It features a gilded wood / gesso frame with characteristic neoclassical scrolls with a large ornate crest.
There is some damage to the crest, where the gesso has broken and been mended, but this doesn't detract from the beauty of the piece. The mirror has some very minor foxing. Some of the gilding is chippy due to its age adding to the vintage patina. The mirror stands on two short legs.
