Large (and beautiful) 19th century French green-glazed 'Tian' bowl with a staple repair on the external side, demonstrating it has been well used (and loved) throughout its life (see photos). There are a couple of other small marks in the glaze, but this is an antique item where you would expect some inperfections.
Tian bowls usually originate from the Provence region of France, used as a household item to serve food or as a general utility vessel.
